Our 20-week ultrasound appointment was this morning. We have great news! First, the baby is healthy and looks great. Every single measurement and diagnostic test was absolutely perfectly normal. Second, the baby was willing to cooperate and we were able to find out whether we’re having a son or a daughter.

As you know, I’ve thought all along that this baby was a boy, and the majority of the old wives’ tales I heard agreed with me. And like I said in the subject line, someone was right about the baby…
 
But it wasn’t me. We’re having a girl!!! My friend Laynie was right–when I told her I was pregnant, the first thing she said was, “It’s going to be a girl!” The moral of the story: Call Laynie–not me–to help you pick lottery numbers and winning horses.
 
Mike and I are SO excited about having a daughter! Audrey Christine will have an older girl cousin to look up to (and borrow clothes from), and we couldn’t be happier. And besides, I’m much better at pink clothes and Barbie dolls than frogs and snails.

I’ll scan in the ultrasound pictures and post them tonight when I get home. She’s so cute!
