Week 22

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 28, 2008

I have eaten so much over the past 24 hours–the baby and I should both have a pretty sizable growth spurt! I’ve noticed her kicks getting much stronger. I can now actually SEE the occasional kick on my stomach at this point, but Audrey hasn’t been cooperative enough for Dad to feel a kick yet. [...]

Week 21

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 21, 2008

First of all, I gained almost 2.5 pounds last week!! Aaah! I’m officially no longer worried about my ability to gain the right amount of weight.
The baby is just over 7 inches long from crown to rump, which is about the size of a large banana–but way cuter and much less… yellow.
Here’s what Audrey will [...]

Ultrasound Pictures

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 17, 2008

Here she is–Audrey Christine Schiller!

There’s a pretty good shot of her face in the first one, and you can see her head (on the left), fists (two balls in the middle), and feet (on the right) in the second one. And I love the third picture of her foot–five toes, present and accounted for!

Someone was right about the baby…

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 17, 2008

Our 20-week ultrasound appointment was this morning. We have great news! First, the baby is healthy and looks great. Every single measurement and diagnostic test was absolutely perfectly normal. Second, the baby was willing to cooperate and we were able to find out whether we’re having a son or a daughter.
As you know, I’ve thought all [...]

Testing the Old Wives’ Tales

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 15, 2008

I’ve been up since 4:30 this morning. Nothing’s wrong and I’m feeling fine, but I just have something on my mind… like the GIANT SURPRISE IN MY BELLY that I can’t un-mystify for 48 more hours. In the meantime, I thought I’d have some fun with this while the suspense remains…
I’ve “known” since the moment [...]

Week 20

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 14, 2008

There has been a belly explosion over the past week–trust me, this picture does not adequately capture the change. It’s HUGE. (Yes, I know–I say that now, but wait until a few weeks down the road…)

It’s a big week for the baby too:
“You’re carrying about 10.5 inches and 10.5 ounces of solid baby. Your baby [...]

Checkup

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 13, 2008

I went in today for my 20-week checkup (20-week update & new pics tomorrow!), and the doctor said that everything looks great. My bloodwork for the sequential screening (checks for Down’s, spina bifida, and Trisomy 13/18) came back completely normal, and my blood pressure was 108/62. The salt is working!
I’ve gained 5.5 pounds so far, [...]

Week 19

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 7, 2008

Today is the first day of week 19–almost halfway there! (Also, only ten more days until the big reveal…) Here’s what the baby is up to this week:
“Your baby is now around 10 inches in length! If this seems a bit shocking, you’ll be relieved to know that the baby hasn’t actually grown over 3 [...]

Mid-Week Picture Update

Posted by: babyschiller on: November 3, 2008

Sigh… Two weeks today until we find out the gender–the suspense is KILLING me!
To distract everyone from the wait, I thought I’d post some recent pictures.
Here I am with our Halloween pumpkins pre-carving:

The final results–I did the bat and Mike did the pirate ship:

Here is my Halloween costume–I was Raggedy Ann:

And Mike’s costume–he was Professor [...]
